I've been asked to my first Twitter party. Through my friend, Joyce, who is at the helm of Macaroni Kids (an online publication for moms), we will be twittering about the ways moms can take care of themselves (who has the time! moms may be screaming). Although not a mom myself, I do recognize the importance of "self care". Pondering what tips I could pass on to the moms at this party, I realized it was the importance and value of getting outside. If only for 10 minutes, if only to stand on your porch to breath in fresh air, if only to feel the air.

If you’re like me, you know when you’ve had a rough night of sleep. I’m usually not on my game, my energy is lower, my temper is shorter and people ask me “Are you tired?” The proof is on my face. Now imagine the impact of nights upon nights of poor or interrupted sleep? Vampires were right when they say that sleep is good for the blood, it’s also prevents heart disease, mental decline and overeating.
