Fitness Retreat Hiking Trails

 

Each day, 3-4 of our expert fitness guides lead half-day or full-day hikes on different hiking trails of varying difficulties. You join the group that matches your fitness level – from beginning to advanced – and get all the individual attention you need. (We accommodate only up to 16 guests at a time, and our Guide-to-Guest ratio is 1-to-4, so all our hiking groups are intimate.) Our guides provide plenty of motivation, along with helpful, on-the-trail advice about techniques that will improve your aerobic workout while keeping you injury-free. And they really know the country you’ll be hiking through. Superior hiking trails abound. Wildflowers? Geology? Native cultures? History? Your trail experience can be both physically and intellectually stimulating, or you can hike in silence and take it all in.

Make no mistake about it: These are not strolls in the woods or hikes in the park! Our weight loss fitness and hiking vacations are serious business that nets serious results. We teach you how to use trekking poles (provided) that change hiking into a whole-body, calorie-torching work-out. Go hiking and track your fitness activity level with a personal heart rate monitor (also provided) while keeping well hydrated on the trail. Lunch on the trail – imagine yourself sitting in an alpine meadow or perched on a boulder with a postcard vista – is an event. The food, always delicious at Mountain Trek, seems even more so after a morning of hiking adventure.

Our focus, every day with every hike, is your safety and care. We can accommodate many fitness levels. Some guests come to us as infrequent exercisers. (They don’t leave that way!) Others have more experience. If you can climb four flights of stairs without stopping and walk on undulating ground for a minimum of two hours, you can do this program. If you’re in doubt, call us. We will motivate you to do more, and our optional wellness coaching program can keep you motivated and on track.
