Please read over the following projected COVID protocols and voice any concerns as soon as possible. These protocols are what we believe will be in place when the lodge opens. They will be mandatory and strictly enforced. We retain the right to refuse service to anyone not following the protocols.
Pre-Arrival Screening
Prior to arrival, you will be required to complete BC’s COVID self-assessment and have a negative test with results no older than 3 days.
Lodge Arrival
Upon arrival to the lodge, your body temperature will be taken and you will be asked a series of questions to determine your health. If a fever is present, you will isolate for two hours and then remeasure.
Transportation (airport pickup & travel to hiking trailheads)
We will be using all 4 of our vehicles and will put 3 guests in each, as well as one driver. Face masks are mandatory prior to entering the vehicle and for the duration of the drive. Hand sanitization is required prior to entry and upon exit. Once out of the vehicle and spaced two meters from the next guest, you can remove your mask.
Spa
A maximum of three guests will be permitted in the hot tub, steam room, and infrared sauna at one time. Please be respectful of your usage time to allow all guests to enjoy the amenities.
Face masks will be required during all treatments. Washing or sanitizing your hands is required prior to entering the treatment room. Your practitioner will also be wearing a mask.
Yoga & Exercise Classes
Hand sanitization is required prior to entry of the yoga studio & gym and upon exit. Appropriate distancing will be marked on the floor and you will use the same station all week. You are required to sanitize exercise equipment pre and post-usage. Masks are optional.
Hiking
Masks are optional when hiking.
Dining
The dining area will have 4 tables, spaced two meters apart, with only three guests seated at each. A mask is not required while eating.
Health Talks & Consultations
During health talks in the lounge, distancing will be in effect, and masks are required.
During 1 on 1 consultations, face masks are required.
When possible, health talks and consultations will be outside, in which case, face masks are optional.
Temperature Checks
Staff body temperatures will be taken daily. Guest temperatures will be taken if symptoms arise.
Staff Interaction
All Mountain Trek staff will be wearing masks, hand sanitizing, and practicing social distancing (except while guiding a hike or instructing a class).
Lodge Sanitization
The lodge will be sanitized daily.
Other Important Things To Note
Mountain Trek Staff
Due to distancing and health concerns, we will be running with less staff than normal.
Lodge Capacity
We will be limiting the number of guests each week to 12. This allows all guests to distance more appropriately.
Canceled Regular Services
Ainsworth Hot Springs is currently only allowing their hotel guests to use the natural mineral hot springs so you will not have access. This may change by July.
Symptom Response
If a guest or staff member exhibits COVID symptoms, they will be asked to get tested in Nelson immediately and isolate until the test results are available (1-3 days). If the test returns positive, all other guests and all staff (and their families) will need to get tested, self-isolating until the results are available. Guests testing positive will need to isolate.
Our Commitment To Preserving Health
Mountain Trek is a world-renowned health retreat and we take everyone’s physical, mental, and emotional health very seriously. We will continue to monitor the COVID situation daily, and reserve the right to cancel the program if we deem that guest and staff safety is at risk.
